It all began with a trip to Murano, Italy. After touring the glass and bead factories on this island, she was hooked. Upon returning home, she promptly signed up for a Lampwork class at the local glass store to learn how to make her own beautiful beads.
She then taught her teenage son how to do it, and that became a great bonding time for them. After numerous mistakes and many successful beads later, Holly decided to start incorporating them into her jewelry designs.
She loves to work with color and texture, Swarovski Crystal and the natural beauty of Semi Precious Gemstones. Many of her pieces have an eclectic, asymmetrical style.
Handmade Jewelry - Moonstone, Turquoise and Silver Necklace
This lovely necklace has a beautiful mix of Turquoise, Moonstone and Kyanite gemstones with a deep red fire polish crystal and silver chain. At the front is a 1" silver flower pendant. Handmade Jewelry - Found Objects Necklace on Leather Cord
A fine, smooth leather cord has a fun pendant hanging at front center. A 1 1/4" diameter gunmetal ring holds three vintage found objects: an old skeleton key, an optical glass and lovely little sterling cross. The necklace is 23" with a 2" extender chain and the pendant is 4". From the extender chain hangs a tiny sterling heart charm. This pretty vintage antique brass filigree flower has an iridescent Pearl cabochon center. The antique brass chain has two differnt types of chain with a double strand closer to the pendant, antique brass connectors, then single strand to the lobster clasp at the neck. Two different antique copper chains with a pretty connecter with crystal and side toggle form a long necklace that is 32". Hanging from this is a vintage key, a pretty pink and green AB crystal set in copper and a teardrop shaped faceted pink Jade briolette. Copper and pink compliment each other in this unique necklace. This intriguing Pendant necklace has a fascinating mix of natural semi precious stones and silver. The pendant is 2" long and has an adorable little Sterling Silver Prayer Box that I found on a recent trip to Thailand tied with a bit of silk ribbon. Length of the necklace itself not including the pendant is 20". 28" of black glass seed beads is very versatile and can be worn with many things. By knotting it, it becomes 24" and has a whole different look. At the neck is a silver toggle. I wanted something simple to show off the pretty vintage charms: an antique brass key, vintage charm with crystals and Mother of Pearl disc with a carved bone bead from Africa.
