This large white porcelain platter is hand-painted with a majestic Great Horned Owl perched on an old tree stump against a barbed-wire fence. Did you know that in early Indian folklore, Owls represents wisdom and helpfulness, and have powers of prophecy.
When I say the photographs don't do this piece justice I really mean it. People who have seen the images and then see the piece in person can't believe how much better it is in person.The colors are so alive and rich in the real life; you almost expect the owl to blink his big yellow eyes. I use a special non-toxic china paint that has been heat-set for lasting durability. Hand washing is preferable but this platter is dishwasher safe. Do not soak overnight in water. Do not use sharp knives directly on the design.
This large platter is sized 11.5"/29cm across and is square in shape. It would be perfect for serving anything from cookies to pasta, salads or even propped up on your mantel or wall as decoration.
