For decades I worked in oils and watercolors. I painted hundreds of traditional canvas paintings by the time I received my degree in Fine Arts in 2003 under the teachings of the President of the World’s Archeology Foundation and an incredible painter himself with two pieces displayed in the Lourve.
It was this professor who took me to Sicily to explore previously undiscovered caves with ancient cave paintings and frescos. The experience left me eager to seek out new mediums for my work. Currently I find myself thrilled with elevating everyday household items to functional works of art. My fiancé and I love to cook and eat and drink wine. Every meal is a calculated, artful presentation from the fresh ingredients to the presentation to the wine selection.

I take the meal to the next level by making the serving pieces art themselves. A meal served on a humble white platter is transformed to a family heirloom when it’s uniquely painted. A simple set of wine glasses become conversation pieces. The most rewarding part of working with everyday kitchen items is that so many more people can appreciate them! I’m able to sell more of my painted dinner and glass works than I ever could have dreamed for my oil paintings. I’ve created entire lines of dinnerware for homes in 11 different countries. I like to think of myself as being a guest at dinner parties around the world.
I’ve fallen in love with my new medium. After all, a painting merely hangs on the wall. But painted glassware and dinnerware is enjoyed at every meal. Cheers to artful living in the everyday!
