My mission that I accomplish with my metal art work is to create Unique Gifts & Functional artistic items for every occasion and that will enhance the home & create an artful environment by symbolizing the joy, work, experiences in life, symbols for Worship & Witness. |
My father Walter Wilson shared the "ZEN" of welding & metal work with me. Family lore has it that the Wilsons have been masters of metal since Goge stole the secrets of fire & iron from the Titans.
When I was 8 years old,and helping clean at my Dad's shop thinking about the gift to give my sister for her birth day, I came across some 3/16" diameter rod & the image flashed in my mind to fabricate a wire cat letter holder.
I have worked as a boilermaker, structural steel fabricator, welding engineer, certified welding inspector, certified welding educator, certified manufacturing technologist, NDT technologist, QA/Qc systems manager, consultant to the local manufacturing community and last but not least, create and sell my unique sculptural & functional artwork.
Inspiration & motivation for my art work:
Without inspiration there is no art,I have (4) great sources of inspiration.
When my wife practice & creating her magic a truly gifted musician a concept flashes in my mind, moves my soul & remains in my mind until I produce the sketch for my metal project.
Mother Nature's scenic beauty, my link to mother earth.
Local industrial salvage yards, the twisted scrap metal no longer serves the purpose for which it was intended, but the fascinating geometric shapes & forms speak to me & tell me what they must become.
Each customer requesting commissioned art work provides me with the joy, work &experiences in life they desire to have metal art work produced to symbolize, metal is magical, mystical & provides psychic satisfaction, metal can become anything you imagine, last forever & constantly evolves with time.
